Alda McEwen is the greatest socialite in San Jacinto City, the greatest city in the world (this is an alternative universe where San Jacinto, Texas, in the community of Walker County, is the most important city in the world, while New York is a small rural town). Alda is taken by some ugly guy who is jealous that she gets all the money in the world just because she is literally a living Barbie while he works all day in a factory and can't affford rent. So the bad guy takes Alda to an apartment where he tightly ties her hands behind her back with duct tape, then gags her with a stripe of silver tape.
