Description:
Alda McEwen is a detective investigating a criminal organization that has been laundering money through a Hollywood movie studio. The studio produces films supposedly costing millions, but the poor quality of these films raises suspicion, and the studio seems indifferent to their box office failures (any resemblance to real life is purely coincidental).
When Alda arrives at the studio, she is caught off guard by one of the producers. Thinking quickly, she pretends to be an actress looking for an audition. The producer, mesmerized by the striking beauty of the blonde woman in her shiny, electric red dress, tells her they have the perfect role for her: the hero’s girlfriend, who is captured by the villains and spends much of the third act bound and gagged, waiting to be rescued. To audition for the part, the producer insists that Alda must be tied up and gagged for real.
Reluctant but knowing she has no other option, Alda agrees. As she is being tied up, she notices that the producer isn't hesitating to bind her tightly. Soon, she realizes that the ropes are far too secure for her to escape, no matter how much she struggles. Sensing danger, Alda tries to question him, but before she can speak, the producer gags her with a strip of duct tape.
The producer then smugly admits that the studio is indeed laundering money for criminal organizations, claiming that all the big studios do it. He explains that a movie with a budget of $200 million and powerful people involved is the perfect way to funnel millions from illicit activities into legal currency. Alda tries to scream for help, but the tape holds tight, silencing her. As she continues to struggle against the ropes, it's clear they are expertly tied, leaving her no room for escape.
The producer moves her to another room, where he ties her to a chair and reveals that he knows she is a detective. He has done his research and discovered her true identity. Now, the criminals plan to keep her captive until they decide what to do with her. With time running out, Alda must find a way to free herself from the ropes before it’s too late.
